We are very proud and excited to announce a great new project to help the minority, marginalized Pygmy population on Idjwi island. The pygmies live in extreme poverty:

with little or no income; they cannot afford to buy food and they cannot afford agricultural tools to grow their own food. Without adequate food, they become weak and sick and are unable to earn any income. It is a vicious circle.

Our new project aims to provide the necessary resources for one of the pygmy communities to cultivate food for themselves. VMC (Volunteers in Mission for Children Care), a Congolese NGO directed by Kizungu Hubert, has offered some land and the Fondazione Cariello Corbino has donated funds to purchase 285 spades.
